What is your "Pipe Dream"?

What is your "Pipe Dream"? Many people have grandiose dreams of riches, fame, and fortune. Others' dreams include frugality, self sustenance, and "living off the land". Many young people begin their adult lives with a dream and no path to follow to reach their dreams. For example, this blog started as the dream of someone. It has a catchy title and few posts. Not a pipe dream...still to be decided.

Many dreams become pipe dreams, but not because of lack of fire and enthusiasm. There are many real examples around each of us of people stuck in pipe dreams. One has only to look as far as students at the university, their coworkers in the office or shop, or the next door neighbors. Not all of these people are living a pipe dream, but most are. Most students of any subject do not become masters. Most people work their whole lives and do not become wealthy. Most get caught in the "keep up with the Jones" trap. They get excited when talking about their dreams and ambitions, but often are doing the wrong things or nothing at all to get there.

If you are sinning "more or less everyday" and think that you are going to arrive in heaven you are living a pipe dream.

Not every dream is destined to be a pipe dream (neither is this blog). Everyone wants to be laying on the dream liner and have the pretty stewardess wake them up with a "Bing, you have arrived at your destination". Somebody is going to get to heaven. There are many examples of wealthy individuals. Some people have what it takes to achieve their dreams.

Management is the key to a dream "arrival". Here are the steps to follow. ONE: Clearly state your dream. TWO: Create mileposts and measurable achievements. THREE: Create goals to reach those mileposts. FOUR: Strive to achieve those goals. FIVE: Be inventive. SIX: Follow up and be critical of why you are not achieving if you are not. SEVEN: Revise and Clarify your goals. EIGHT: Strive to achieve.

This is not ignoring the most important factor: God. What you want to achieve must be within His will if you want to serve Him. If not He will just let you go.

Check back for updates on making your dream a reality and not another pipe dream.

John, nice post. It is true that we must live free from sin or our eternal reward in heaven will have only have been a pipe dream. Love you man, -David
